The Eugene V. Debs Cooperative House was purchased in 1967 by the Inter-Cooperative Council at the University of Michigan of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The house was named after socialist politician Eugene V. Debs.[1] Debs house is located several blocks south of the University of Michigan central campus; on East University Ave.
Debs co-op attracts a variety of students, writers, musicians, artists, and activists who, in diverse ways, are engaged to make our community a better and more interesting place. We are a vegetarian, vegan friendly house that makes an effort to buy organic and local food and household goods from environmentally and socially conscious producers. Debsters contribute five hours of work per week cooking, cleaning, and generally keeping the house a good place to live.
